“I was about going home when I noticed the Fulani man on my farm. I was scared but greeted him and he replied. I sought his assistance in putting the firewood on my head, which he obliged.
“But before I could thank him, he attacked me with his cutlass and macheted me on the head. Before I could question him or know what was happening, he gagged me and tore my clothes and I raised alarm. “Suspecting that the shout could attract other farmers around, he took to his heels with his blood-stained cloth.”
The victim added that she managed to get to the nearest community where they offered her another cloth, adding that her rescuers notified her Delta-State-born husband and member of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Thomas who later mobilised his men that led to the arrest and handing over of the culprit to the police.
